More parental killings

Filed under: General — DuhDude @ 10:25 am

Another sad day for mankind when you can read stories like this one:
Mom killed 3 kids, police say

Police found the bodies of three children lying side-by-side on a bed in their home after their mother said she smothered them, investigators said.

Why do we have these type things happen? Should we truly make examples of those responsible?

Personally the duh factor here is that anyone should have to ask this question. Sick or not, any individual that is capable of this type thing the world is better off without!

Pet owners beware.. your “best friend” might tell on you!

Filed under: General — DuhDude @ 9:38 am

Almost all kids that have had a dog at one point or another has slipped some food under the table to them because they didn’t want to eat it. A pet “helping it’s owner” at it’s best huh? :)

Some pets can help in drastically different situations as well .. warning their owners of intruders, fires and even affairs. Yes, that’s what I said.. affairs!!

Man’s mouthy parrot reveals girlfriend’s affair

How could I not share this major duh with you all …… so cheaters beware … all kinds of eyes are on you :)

Duh tech

Filed under: General — DuhDude @ 9:23 am

There’s some really cool things coming in the future in regards to computers and their impacts on our daily lives! Some of the things Gates is planning is very sharp and could change how we do things considerably in the tech world.

A friend of this site covers a bit of Gates Keynotes here:
CES 2006 Bill Gates keynote

What do you think of some of the new ideas mentioned there?

The ultimate duh machine - our own mind

Filed under: General — DuhDude @ 7:21 am

Is it not amazing the power of the human mind? It has the power to break the codes of DNA, atoms, molecules, objects in space and more but yet we use very little of it’s true potential. (Scientist have estimated that no more than 10% of the human mind is used at one time although some disagree with that estimate) Can one even begin to imagine the possibilities of the human minds real potential if we managed to unlock the unused percentage? Wouldn’t the knowledge gained form that surely be a benefit to mankind itself? Maybe not …..

Let us really take some time and think this out. The biggest contributing factor to most true duh stories is the ignorance of man’s actions in one form or another, correct? With this being the case, if we managed to increase the use of the human mind, would it not also make sense that in some portion of the population it might actually make their minds more useless than they already are? :) Think about the criminal that robs a bank with a note written on the back of one of his own deposit slips complete with his address, a true life duh event! Then there’s the multiple criminals that have dropped their identification such as a license in a wallet at the crime scene also. How much of a risk is there that in the path of improving a “good” mind one might also advance the “challenged” mind to an even deeper level? (Side note - we are still working on making our past archives available which contain many stories showing examples of “duh” actions like those above)

While I am somewhat joking above I will also admit that even though the power of intelligence from some of the people in our world has truly impressed me, the lack of intelligence from others I also find rather amazing! No, I am not complaining at all as without some of those “duh” types, there would be very little to write about here but talk about covering both ends of the spectrum :)

OK, enough of the “deep thought” junk for today .. time for a few folks to get registered and post a few of their own thoughts!
