Terri Schiavo

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 2:06 pm

While it is very sad to hear of the passing of Terri Schiavo, we all must use this as a lesson to avoid the same “duh” situation of having folks guess on what we might have wanted in the same situation.

Best suggestion, if you don’t have a will, power of attorney and so forth set up as of now, it is time to get it accomplished! Yes, it might be a bit of an inconvenience but in the end, it’s more than worth it as the Terri Schiavo case has proven over and over.

If you haven’t heard about it (you must have been on a remote island for quite some time now) you can read all about it at cnn.com

Natural disasters

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 12:32 am

We’ve had earlier discussion about the weird weather trends and so forth all over the world. It  seems that the large events are not yet quite over with either.

Earthquake hits!

Are we in for even more severe things coming soon? It’s rather scary to a degree although there obviously is only so much that a person can do in certain cases.

What’s your thoughts…. has there just been way to many major natural disaters lately or is it just one of those things……

How ignorant are some people?

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 7:46 pm

While looking for “duh” articles we’ve seen quite a few unusual things but the level of stupidity knows no bounds…..

Woman Paid Invisible ‘Mermaids’ Airfare

“A woman testified that she paid a popular local musician to fly four mermaids from London to Harare to help her recover a stolen car and cash.

One must read the entire story to actually understand the true DUH levle on this one….

DeLorean earned mention

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 10:37 pm

The name DeLorean stands for many different things depending on who you talk to ….

A car enthusiast with an exceptional grasp of what “could be”

A failed businessman

A thief/drug dealer (not convicted though which is  a valid note to make)

A genius as seen by some even

Some might only remember the name because of the car in the Back To The Future movies.

However you might remember the name, it has lost a face to accompany it…

amercian idol duh pt 2

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 5:32 pm

Not to be picky on this show over some of the other idiotic things on TV any more but these type headlines make me wonder….

Why did Mario Vazquez quit ‘Idol’

‘American Idol’ finalist withdraws

… who really cares???

Now with all this latest “drama” as this is the second person to quit one has to wonder is behind the scenes that horrid or is it a case of planned out “excitement” to add to the show.

Either way… DUH!!! Wasn’t this show billed about being all about the music and performances?

Business failure 101 - the duh approach

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 5:56 pm

How to fail in business eventually…..

I had the pleasure of dealing with my cell phone service company the other day (or maybe I should say my soon to be ex service provider cingular wireless)

Beyond the fact that their website is a joke (it looks pretty but you can not even leave a comment unless you register and then you better have a few free hours to find that option. We won’t even go into the contact buttons that once you say you don’t want it, it rechecks them on submittal for an account)

Their actual cellphone service is a gamble on if you can get connected or stay connected at any one time.

Their sales tactic of not giving any service unless it involves a contract update is pure BS.

Their customer service isn’t even laughable (at least in the Bloomington Normal area of Illinois. The sales people are rude to you unless again, you sign a new contract. Then, if you tell them you do not appreciate the rudeness, the worthless #@$&*@ will hang up on you.
(This wasn’t the first time I’ve dealt with their rudeness either and I have been a customer for years)
Now of course this is all just my opinion based on my interaction with them but I can say this much, I’m paying the penalty to get out of the contract and go with a different company that treats customers how they should be treated….

I also can truthfully say that every single soul I talk to will be told not to get any service with these fools. Nobody should have to tolerate being treated badly when they are paying for a service.

So.. good bye cingular wireless … I have better things to deal with than morons pretending to run a customer service based business when it obviously boils down to nothing more than treating only those you already haven’t suckered into a contract decently.

I can’t say what their service is like anyplace else and for that matter, I couldn’t even contact anyone other than that specific store’s manager (remember that great website mentioned earlier) but at least anyone considering using this service in central Illinois should think twice after reading this…. again, in my opinion that is.

Laws versus age

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 1:55 pm

Well, I’m not sure how this qualifies as a “duh” but I’m sure it does one way or another. While I personally don’t support the death penalty for many crimes, I do however feel that it is justifiable as compared to putting someone in prison for their natural life (again, for certain crimes). I mean let’s face it…. if a mass murderer gets caught and convicted beyond a doubt of guilt… do you really want to support that person for the rest of their life as they sit in a prison someplace? Worst yet, do you really want to take the chance that some idiot says “They’re cured” and actually let them out back into society?

Now, let’s add in the factor of the age of the criminal. Would it matter to you if the above mass murderer was 30, 80 or 15? Again, if a person can commit multiple killings, to me age shouldn’t be near as much factor as the motive and other circumstances. Evidently though, others don’t feel that way:
