“Fahrenheit” Hits 100 (Million)
By Bridget Byrne

Sometimes, when the fahrenheit hits 100 in the middle of summer, it’s a good thing.
Just ask Michael Moore.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker’s latest fireball of a documentary, the President Bush (news - web sites)-bashing Fahrenheit 9/11, cooked up another $5 million in ticket sales this weekend, ranking in seventh place on the weekly box-office rundown, according to studio estimates Sunday.

real estate .. a duh racket

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 11:39 pm

OK… who’s been lucky enough to buy any property lately. I realize we’re past the days of simple “here’s the money, this place is mine now” but it just might have went a bit overboard at this point.

Let’s see…

Real estate agents

Lawyers

title company

possibly an accountant

multiple financial record industries and so forth.

So much for just a buyer and seller huh? Don’t get me wrong.. owning your own property is a great thing but painless it’s not!

Florida man accused of using gator as weapon

OK, this has to be one of the more ignorant things I’ve read here lately. Perhaps if they allow the girlfriend to use the gator as punishment, some other idiot won’t get the same idea :)

Work ethics .. or the lack of

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 11:37 am

What happened to earning an honest wage for an honest day’s work and being proud of the service you provided? Has that whole theory been ruled obsolete here lately and I missed the announcement? Or.. is it possibly that folks are not being raised under the same standards that the older and middle age folks have?

Let’s see….. some examples …
How about the fast food places. You go in and place your order, stand there and wait as the workers discuss the transaction… finally your food comes (usually prepared wrong in one way or another) and that’s it. No thank you… no smiling face… nothing but some raunchy food to match the service usually. Now at the same time, the headquarters of these fast food places are screaming profits are down because sales are down. Well…. DUH! If the service basically sucks… eventually so will the profit margin.

When you get down to the heart of the matter though, the consumers are just about as much to blame as the service workers in my opinion. Why? … because we not only tolerate things like this at the moment… but we also return for more later on :)

We are creatures of habit sometimes and this factors into this situation quite heavily. As with the fast food example above (and remember it was only one example of literally thousands that could be given) if for a change, when you get lower than acceptable standards service you actually took your business elsewhere, things would change quickly! (Providing enough people did this of course) Unfortunately, many people return to the same place that they didn’t et the service they want simply because “they always have went to that place”. Let’s live a little folks…. try going elsewhere :)

What’s your thoughts folks…. are the work ethics we once enjoyed over, or salvageable?

Are people really that clueless?

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 7:37 pm

Umm folks.. perhaps when you go to work, you should think about work itself huh? The internet hasn’t changed those basic principles that much…. or has it?

sex abuse and schools

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 11:50 am

It seems to me that the problem of sex abuse in organized areas such as church and school become more common everyday such as this story:

School: Five new sex cases revealed

Duh.. when is people going to say enough is enough and take control of this situation? Let the goverments allow the victim and their families decide, and issue if they so desire, the punishment for these people comitting the crimes and I’d be willing to bet you’d see a drop in this activity and rather quickly at that.
