Well duh .. it’s about time!

Pay-as-you-go Illinois prison?: There is, as they say, no free lunch in life … unless, of course, you’ve done something bad.

Then the state will house, feed and clothe you — absolutely free of charge — in what is called a prison.

But even that is changing.

Occurring one day last week in the courtroom of McLean County Circuit Judge Donald Bernardi: the Illinois Department of Corrections filed suit against a Bloomington man — Brett D. Glaser — demanding he pay the state $80,577.41.

That’s what Illinois says he owes … for keeping him locked up for about half of the 1990s, after he was convicted of several McLean County crimes.

Crime doesn’t pay … but apparently you now could. (this story from http://www.pantagraph.com )

I wonder if they ever would have thought about this if it wasn’t for the fact that someone finally said “Duh, why is the state paying for all of this?” :)

Man sees movie, admits murder

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 3:37 pm

“A TEXAS man who had gotten away with murder confessed to police after seeing Mel Gibson’s controversial film The Passion of the Christ and talking with a spiritual adviser, authorities said.”

http://news.com.au/common/story_page/0,4057,9082237%255E13762,00.html

OK, a good thing he confessed? Yes! Giving credit to that movie? well… to me that’s a big duh!

Sometimes we all just need to remember that there is not much standard logic that can be applied to someone actions if they’re that insane to do what they did in the first place.

New game.. new heights to the duh factor

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 12:13 am

Sooner or later it was bound to happen .. sporting type games got boring it seems. All those years of football, baseball, basketball and so forth have taken their toll.

So what’s the next step? Peeball (yes, you read that correctly - PEEBALL!)

Since I really doubt my explanation of this could truly do the story justice, I’m going to include the original link of where I read about this:
http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2004/03/22/1079823287334.html

Has the duh factor reached new heights? Well, let’s just hope this doesn’t “catch on” or we all have something to worry about as far as what’s next.

By the way, if after reading this all you have a sudden urge to hit the bathroom.. good luck on your score :)

Confused?

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 10:46 am

OK… I’m a bit confused on this….

The US blows up someplace (after warning them that is) and then right after, the talks of “rebuilding” comes into play. Of course tax payer money is used for this rebuilding.

Now, the US puts a criminal in jail for ten years… when that criminal gets out, they are not given a “rebuilt life” (job, home and so forth)

So, what’s the difference here? To me, it seems if “one” is right, then the other should be treated equally. I know this sounds like a big duh but then isn’t it a big duh to bomb someone knowing that you’ll be footing the rebuilding bill?

Just seems to me to be another duh factor in progress.

Protecting or sheltering?

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 12:18 pm

I read a story today about a child’s parents being upset in North Carolina concerning a book the child had gotten from the school library. In this book, it tells of a prince that falls for another prince (yep.. a gay prince) Now the parents are outraged that their child could read something like this as they claim the child is not old enough to understand it all.

Time for a clue..

Sponge Monkies

Filed under: General — Administrator @ 11:50 am

If anything that I have seen recently has made me go duh,
it has to be the arrival of SpongeMonkies on TV.  You may have seen
them staring  on a recent Quiznos  commercial.
You can see more here;

And not to be done by a bunch of mutant hedgehogs, check out
the Viking Kittens doing a little ditty to;
